Bar Furniture - Match Your Favorite Bar Design Theme
Once you have a home bar design or bar theme picked out, the next step is probably going to be how you will furnish it. This gets complicated, because even among the different themes, there are any number of options for bar furniture available. You can be an old veteran of bars and pubs like I am and think you might have a pretty good idea what you want to see in your own home bar. But you know as well as I that even bars within the same theme are not all alike. Now this is obviously a good thing. For example, if all Irish pubs looked alike, we'd never get to experience much bar variety at all. If we liked Irish pubs, we might as well stick with the one nearest to us...and see the same people every night. Don't get me wrong. There is nothing wrong about the neighborhood bar, and it is nice to have a familiar place to go. But a little variety makes a nice change of pace and a different environment. You will want something a little different in your home bar as well. You will want bar furniture and features that will be like your hometown bar, but not all of the features. And the first bar design feature that will be the first thing noticed in your home bar will come from the bar furniture itself. The best advice I can give to you now in searching for bar furnishings within your home bar theme is to shop around. Now, I don't necessarily mean to shop around for the furniture itself, although that's a really good idea if money is your main issue. What you should do is visit a few bars within your chosen bar design theme and look around. Notice what looks good and what makes that bar theme what it is. What kind of furniture is there? Is there a big piece of furniture that seems to attract most of the people? Obviously, it could be the actual bar itself. But notice the features of the bar. Is it something you'd like to see? Is it fancy or just plain but perfect for that bar? Many of the Irish pubs (you know, the ones in Ireland) have a nice big fancy bar with a few pub tables and bar stools that aren't really all that exciting, but serve the purpose. And these pubs often have long tables that seat many people sit at, kind of like family style, except that it's a pub. These nice Irish folks like to partake in a little drinking, of course, and a little little singing along with someone in the pub who's playing an instrument of some kind. They also like to smoke a cigarette or 20 on occasion. But back to the bar furniture. It doesn't really matter as far as the design and look within your theme, because you want that to vary anyway. But by all means, buy quality bar furniture. Finding a good furniture deal is important, but the quality of the furniture is of the upmost importance. If your furniture looks cheap, so will your home bar. Again, it should be the bar furniture that you start with, and then move on to the rest of the decorating stuff. But buy quality bar furniture that fits with your theme and then design around that.
