Build a Poker Table
For those with a few basic woodworking skills and some good poker table plans, trying to build a poker table rather than buy one could be rewarding accomplishment. A handmade poker table can also serve as a beautiful and useful piece bar furniture.
One of the first things you will notice when looking for poker table plans is there is a huge variety out there.
There are long oval poker tables that are more for tournament poker. They are fine if you've got available space for one and the room is going to be primarily for poker and not much else. Or if you regularly host poker nights of up to 11-12 people, then these tables for you. But if you're looking to build a poker table for a home bar plan or bar design, and not looking to have this piece of furniture that dominates the whole room, a smaller table is usually more desireable.
A smaller round or octogonal table is perfect for the home poker player and poker host. If you regularly have 4-8 players for your regular poker play, then you'll find these to be the ideal size. At a diameter of around 60" these tables.
Many times, the poker table plans are for building a poker table that is actually just the poker table-top that just lays over another table you already have. These are great for being able to put the whole poker table-top away when not in play.
Many of both the long and the round or octogon poker table plans will allow you to attach banquet table legs that can be folded under when not in use. You can easily fold these legs under for easy storage when not in use.
