Home Poker Supplies are more than just a couple of decks of poker cards and a set of poker chips. They also can not really be cleaned without losing the integrity of the cards. So spill something on paper playing cards and you might as well throw out the deck. With paper cards, you basically need two decks of new cards every poker get-together or poker night. No one likes to show up for a poker game with well-used playing cards. For the integrity of the game, everyone wants to see fresh decks of cards, sealed and in their boxes. The only time you would not need a new deck is if you were using plastic poker cards, which is the other material playing cards are made of. Plastic playing cards are much more expensive (about 10 times as expensive) as their paper cousins. But with that expense, you get playing cards that are almost indestructible. Plastic poker cards can be folded, bent, or pretty much played the “heck” out of, and they still are ready for more. Even the edges will not show wear or get a permanent dirty look because the plastic does not just coat the cards, but is the whole card, even in the middle. Plastic playing cards can also be washed, either with a wet rag or sponge, They can actually be thrown in your washing machine to get cleaned if you want to. So, to summarize the poker cards section of home poker supplies, look at it this way. When it comes to playing cards, here’s your choices. Spend a little bit many times and every poker night, or spend a lot just once or twice for tons of poker playing and poker nights. Not all poker chips are alike either. Far from it. Most quality chips have at least some clay in them, but not all. Some are composed mostly of a very hard plastic material with maybe a metal disk inside. That's not all bad, either, as they will last quite a long time without showing a lot of wear. While many consist of clay through the poker chip, still others have a metal disk inside that gives it a different weight feel. Clay and clay composite poker chips dominate the home poker supplies market, as well as the casino market. Poker chips typically run anywhere from 8-13.5 grams each. A commonly used weight home poker chip is 11.5 grams, while the chips that casinos use are normally lighter. The super-heavy 13.5 gram chips are very nice but not always necessary. And they cost quite a bit more. The different designs on poker chips vary greatly also. Get what you like and that looks like quality.
