Should you decide you want your own home sports bar, the first design decision to make is what kind of sports theme you want for your sports bar. Much of this will be determined by the size and shape of your room, so keep that in mind while we go over some of the design possibilities and home sports bar ideas. *Warning!*---If you have a wife or girlfriend that pretty much calls the shots around your house, you might want to ask for permission first before you implement some of these home sports bar ideas. If you are a wife or girlfriend, please enjoy the these home sports bar ideas and the rest of this lovely website. One of the more common and popular home sports bar themes is to design your bar around your favorite sports team, using all the colors and paraphernalia and gear of that team. You can get off to a great start if you are a true fanatic, because you probably already have some of the team paraphernalia to go into your sports bar. That will save a few bucks, but you're gonna want to add quite a bit of new stuff you might not have even knew existed before. Another of the home sports bar ideas or themes you could go after is one where you design around your favorite sport. If it is football, for instance, you could decorate with everything football-related, or you could focus on the NFL or your favorite college football conference. How about designing your bar around different college football rivalries around the country like Auburn & Alabama, Ohio State & Michigan, or Florida & Florida State(you get the idea)? Here's a sports bar theme that has been used in a few neighborhood sports bars but could easily be adapted to your home bar. If you are a boxing fan you can put in a boxing ring around the perimeter of all or part of the room. It couls be painted around the walls, or it could actually be a ring you made from supplies at a home improvement or craft store. Inside this "ring" would be where you have your lounge and/or bar table and chairs, and where you would watch boxing match or any other sports from. Admittedly, some of these home sports ideas are a little over-the-top. But they are intended to get you to think outside the box and maybe come up with your own sports bar design ideas. Along the same lines as the "boxing ring", if you're a huge football fan and have a long "narrow room" to make into a sports bar, paint the floor to look like a football gridiron, with yardlines and all. You could even paint yardmarkers with guys holding them (What do you call those guys, anyway?). Paint a crowd on the walls also. They don't have to look exactly like real people. One of the more typical sports bar setups would be to have a large screen TV as the focal part of the home sports bar. Most of the seating would be around that. But an arrangement alongside that could be seating around a small bar as well, with another smaller television mounted above the bar within view. Or if space is limited, maybe have a smaller television within an entertainment center, along with all your stereo and other equipment all together in organized fashion.

They even have plans for a tailgate party bar that folds up and is portable. Now that's definitely one of the better home sports bar ideas. Give it a look if you're interested in building a bar. Think of things you see at a game and implement them into your design theme. A light fixture that looks like stadium lights would be pretty cool. Or how about a stadium bench on the side? Or a mannequin dressed up like a hot dog or beer vender? Turn one wall into the "Green Monster" or have fake ivy growing on a "brick" wall. There's a million home sports bar ideas in your head.
